PVOptimize is a new software product developed by KGA Associates, LLC.  It is a software modeling tool that helps solar photovoltaic (PV) sales and installation companies design optimal PV systems for their customers. It is useful to anyone who needs to predict and analyze solar PV output, the affect of shading on PV ouput and the affect of "time of use" rate schedules on optimal system size. It is also a useful tool for analyzing utility rate structures and their effect on solar installations.

PVOptimize allows the user to forecast the annual output of a proposed solar PV system based on the system's geographic location, orientation, tilt, shading and other factors.  It also estimates annual utility costs based on predicted consumption and utility rate tables. Most California utiltiy rate tables are pre-installed in the software.   It is an invaluable tool in determining how to "zero" out utility bills without overbuilding, and therefore over pricing, a solar photovoltaic system. The current version of PVOptimize is designed for use with residential and small commerical projects.
